Carrizalillo Beach

This beach is approximately 460 feet (140 meters) long by 98 feet (30 meters) wide. The gently inclined sand is smooth and white. The crystalline, greenish-blue water is warm and shallow. The are large rocks in the bay, making waves gentle and low and an ideal spot for snorkeling and scuba diving. This beach is very popular, especially during the high tourist season. There is a trailer park, as well as snorkeling and scuba equipment for rent.


Location: Puerto Escondido: Is located 165 miles (265 kilometers) south of the City of Oaxaca via Federal Highway 131. Approximate travel time: 5 hours Carrizalillo is west of Puerto Escondido when driving on the Coast Highway in the direction of Pinotepa Nacional. Turn left approximately 1,640 feet (500 meters) from Puerto Escondido, onto a small, unpaved, but well kept road, which ends 328 feet (100 meters) from the beach. You can also rent a boat if you prefer to access the beach by sea.
