Rodolfo Morales
Born on may
8th 1925 in the Ocotlán de Morelos district in Oaxaca.
Anyone would
judge him shy, silent, modest, poor and uninterested in any subject;
anyone would have thougth he had never ventured outside his hometown.
He would appear as an easy prey due to his unscrupulous outward,
nevertheless, he couldn´t be chated so easily becauseof his
intelligent and wisdom.

Arriving at México City in 1948 he enters at the "San
Carlos Painting Academy". Sculptress Geles Cabrera decides
to raise his fame, which beginsin Cuernavaca, Morelos, showing his
work in an exhibition at the "Casa de las Campanas Art Gallery".
He travels throughout the world; mainly visiting museums, however,
live conferences inspired his passion. That is how he met Alfonso
Reyes, Jose Vasconcelos, salvador Novo, Carlos Chávez, Mariano
Azuela and Manuel Toussanit , next to them he evolves intellectualy.
In 1975 Rufino
Tamayo welcomes his artwork stimulating his creativity. By 1985
he decides to go back to his homeland to work and promote his creations.

In 1992 he establishes
"Rodolfo Morales Foundation", an Institution committed to the
rescue of Architectural and Cultural Master Pieces of Oaxaca´s Central
Valleys, Historical Monuments restoration, folk, art, theater and music
promotion, as well as ocotlan´s youth education stimulus, public
works and preservations of traditions.
He dies on January
30th, 2001. His remains rest at the Santo Domingo de Guzmán Convent,
in Ocotlán Oaxaca.
To honor his memory,
the Classic Band of Oaxaca ( musicians from Oaxaca who live in
Distrito Federal), pays homage to his great artist performing some of
his most emotive musical pieces which reflect the feeling of many cultures
trough the colors of their costumes, the rhythm and elegance in their
dance. Rodolfo Morale's memory will prevail through the ages.
